In fact I do understand some German but i prefer English. I will perhaps study in Germany (Esslingen) in the future so it is to be hoped that I learn your language before.

Aber egal....is auf jeden Fall ziemlich cool!:)

Esslingen am Neckar?
When will you begin your study?
Esslingen is 15-20 minutes away from me (by car or bike)...

Hopefully i'm going abroad at this time next year (autumn 2006). Please send med a PM with your personal opinion about Esslingen city. The education name is INTAP (International Automotive Engineering Program).

I am doing some prototypes for attachment of the Buell end. I'm considering both design and a solid construction. The attachment is suposed to be machined in a mill (fräsen). Please leave a comment.

The attachment is then to be welded on to the frame.

Great, but it doesn´t fits so.

The Buell Frame is Smaller than your GS Frame. Excactly 2,8cm on each side.

tokke 28.10.2005 20:01:12

That's correct, the upper attachment have to be rotated with an certain angle for the Buell frame to slide in (the upper and lower attachment can't be paralell as shown in the picture).

I noticed that the Buell frame is 153mm wide ant that means (as you said Jim) that the attachment has to be directed inwards, but that was tricky to do with the CAD-program 8) . I will do a more realistic modell this holiday.

Br. Kristoffer

28.10.2005 20:10:46

Good luck Tokke, good luck! 8)

Show me, when its finished.

http://www.gs-500.de/index.php?page=3&s ... ic_id=6185

This is an updated version of the attachment. I need more dimensions to make it more realistic (my bike is 200km away from where I study), so that will wait.

I dont know if I'll have them built, the details looks very complicated with all the angles and so on. The way I'm considering now is to cut of half the GS-frame and use it to fit the Buell end. But I'm in no rush so I'll have it my mind for some more time.

Br. Kristoffer

tokke 19.02.2006 16:16:26

A little update. I'm looking for a good placement of the Buell as.

http://www.sporthoj.com/gallery/uplo...0/prototyp.jpg

Patr0ck 19.02.2006 16:26:53

Buell tails are great, I would fix it in the angle shown on the pictures. I think it looks best when the upper edge of the tail is in a straight line with the lower edge of the fuel tank. 8)
Do you think about another paint shop for the bike and the rims?

tokke 19.02.2006 18:02:52

Thanks for the good comments!

Yes, a repaint is something I have to do. But that will have to wait, i'll do a bellypan first (bugspoiled). And then the exhaus... and so on :D

Br. Kristoffer

tokke 26.03.2006 10:33:45

Very nice weather to be outside!

First I cut of the original frame.
http://www.sporthoj.com/gallery/uplo...s_2006_057.jpg

Then I adjust the heigt of the Buell ass.
http://www.sporthoj.com/gallery/uplo...s_2006_043.jpg

This week I'll weld the attachment of the Buell ass and then fix the different "heights" of the original frame and the thicker Buell ass.

Make me happy already further pictures to see...so go on with it!

P.S. the white LED taillight is also nice....perhaps i´ll buy it...

tokke 20.04.2006 20:45:28

I'll post some pictures for you snakebite87. The pictures show the final placement of the Buell frame and a primary placement of the number license.

have you thought about changing your bikes colour? i think i'd like black on it!

I´ll have to register the bike as "rebuilt bike". The licenseplate will be placed within the Buell-frame, I'll do the undertray and saddle in "plexiglas".. What´s that word in english? (Transperent plastic.)

Almost done, hopefully I'll have her ready by the end of next week.

Br.

KriegsJunkie 17.07.2006 21:16:58

And what do you gotta do to make that bike Street - conformous ?
Because I'm Pretty Sure that in germany there was only little Chance to get that Exhaust Allowed like that.
Hope you're already training Hang-offs, else that will be a hard start

tokke 17.07.2006 21:29:35

I don't know how to make a good looking sadle unfortunally, any suggestions? The exhaust won't be any problem in Sweden, there is only a rule that the exhaust should be directed downwards, no rule about the placement that I know.

I did'nt understand the last thing about "Hang-offs"??

Br.

KriegsJunkie 18.07.2006 00:04:48

Hang offs are a Technique to put your Focal Point (??) nearer to the inner Side of the curve, allowing you to stay ore up in the Curve.
I Mean : Seriously I would be scared as Fuck with that Exhaust being that near to the ground. If It touches the Ground It'll spit Spark like some Fucking Firecracker And Possibly even ruin your zylinder-head.
If You're very unlucky your rear tire will leave the ground and You'll experience what we call a 'Lowsider'.

tokke 18.07.2006 10:29:08

Perhaps, thanks for your concerns. I'll give it a try first then I might chage the placement.

Br.

Johannes_S1987 18.07.2006 10:36:34

do you really want to leave the back light as it is? i mean as i said i love the back but i think some more modern LED's in the back would fit better to the turning signals and to the rest of the bike don't you think? i'd love to see the bike in reallife...

tokke 18.07.2006 10:49:10

Thank you!

The backlight is a budget... I took it from my old gs500e  , there are lots of cool backlights but I'll have to wait.

Br.

tokke 18.07.2006 21:51:58

The final placement of the licenseplate, hopefully it's ok by "the law".

23.07.2006 10:50:15

i think it´s ok by the law...i saw many bikes during my vacation in sweden(one week ago...do you know the city asarum or karlshamn?)at which the licenseplate was just placed like yours.

greets
