How to Remove SP2
You can use Add or Remove Programs to remove (or uninstall) SP2 and restore your computer to its previous state:

1.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2.
Click Add or Remove Programs, click Windows XP Service Pack 2, and then click Remove.

3.
Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.


Notes:

• Before you remove SP2, it's a good idea to print the steps on this page.

• If you choose to remove SP2, a dialog box displays a list of the programs that you installed after you finished installing SP2. If you continue with the removal, these programs might not work correctly.

• If you backed up your personal files before you installed SP2 or if you encounter problems after removing SP2, you can restore Windows to a previous state. To select a restore point and "roll back", use the System Restore Wizard. To open the wizard, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.
