Entry to the world-famous Isle of Man TT Races is strictly controlled by a series of rules and regulations that every competitor must abide by.

For instance, all riders and passengers resident in the UK must hold, as a minimum, a National Licence issued by the ACU or SACU, and must have held the licence for at least 12 months before the closing date for entries.

Non-UK riders and passengers must have held, as a minimum, an FIM International Non-Championship Licence for at least 12 months before the closing date for entries.

In addition, all would-be TT competitors must hold a TT Course Licence issued by the ACU.

Entrants must hold a valid National Entrants or FIM Sponsors Licence for road racing, and anyone wanted to take part as a sidecar passenger must have had experience in the previous season on a regular basis.

Another rule is that every rider and passenger must wear a durable identity tag, with name and date of birth details, on a cord necklace.
