Den Zylinderkopf planen. Das macht man normalerweise immer, wenn man den Kopf abnimmt. Man überprüft mit zB einem Haarlineal ob der Kopf etwas verzogen ist. Da das Planschleifen der Dichtflächen nicht viel kostet, kann man das auch einfach präventiv machen. Hinterher hat man Gewissheit, dass es keine Probleme mit den Dichtungen gibt.
Cylinder head skimming. You usually do that when you take off the head from the engine block.
You could check it with a straight edge, but you could also do it without checking first.
Afterwards you can sure, that it´s perfectly straight so you won´t have any trouble with the gaskets.
